Securities America Inc. of Omaha, Neb., has named Tracy DeWald, 44, senior vice president and general counsel.

Securities America Inc. of Omaha, Neb., has named Tracy DeWald, 44, senior vice president and general counsel.
As general counsel, he will be responsible for leading the firm’s legal department and will serve as a member of the firm’s president’s council. Mr. DeWald was chief compliance officer and counsel for TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. in Omaha.
In addition, the company has appointed James M. Heeney, 38, vice president and chief compliance officer.
His responsibilities include providing strategic direction to the compliance department and overseeing the development, implementation, communication and review of all compliance policies, processes, procedures and technology designed to meet the requirements of various regulatory authorities.
Mr. Heeney was managing director of compliance operations at TD Ameritrade.

AIG Financial Advisors Inc. of Phoenix has named Steve Oliver, 30, vice president and regional recruiter. He will be responsible for marketing to and recruiting advisers and adviser practices, and transitioning their businesses to AIG Financial Advisors.
Mr. Oliver served as a business development consultant for Richmond, Va.-based Wachovia Securities Financial Network.

Advisors Asset Management, a division of Fixed Income Securities LP in Monument, Colo., has named Christopher T. Genovese, 42, executive vice president of sales administration.
He will oversee asset management for AAM’s separately managed account operations, covering both fixed-income and equity investments.
Mr. Genovese joined the company in 2000 as senior vice president, adviser services.

The Securities and Exchange Commission Historical Society, the Washington-based non-profit charged with maintaining the SEC’s virtual museum and archive, has elected Herbert F. Janick III, 48, as 2007-08 president.
He is currently a partner with Boston-based law firm Bingham McCutcheon LLP.

Massey Quick & Co. LLC in Morristown, N.J., has brought aboard Joseph Belfatto, 52, as a partner. He will become a member of the management committee and will play a key role in new-business development, client relationship management and manager selection. Mr. Belfatto worked at HSBC as head of global markets, Americas, at Prospect Heights, Ill.-based HSBC North America Inc.

AIG VALIC, a Houston-based unit of American International Group Inc. in New York, has hired Laurel S. Cochennet, 50, as vice president and director of consulting relations.
In this newly created position, she will manage AIG VALIC’s relationships with senior retirement plan consultants and represent the company with client groups where consultants play a large role.
Previously, she was a principal and senior retirement consultant with New York-based Mercer Human Resource Consulting LLC.

American Century Investments in Kansas City, Mo., has appointed Barry Fink executive vice president and chief operating officer.
He will also become a director on the American Century Cos. Inc. board.
Mr. Fink, 52, was a managing director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management in New York.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management has announced that Peter John Rolls, 38, has joined the affiliate of The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in New York as head of accounting policy for its insurance asset management business.
He will be responsible for establishing and implementing accounting policies and procedures that meet insurance accounting standards, as well as overseeing the investment accounting and reporting function for insurance clients.

Integrity Mutual Funds Inc. in Minot, N.D., has named Mark Kamies, 39, national sales manager of a wholly owned distribution subsidiary, Integrity Funds Distributor Inc.
He has been with the company since 2003 and previously served as regional director, responsible for marketing Integrity’s stock and bond mutual funds throughout Kansas and Missouri.

The Octavus Group, a Minneapolis-based national wholesale distributor of alternative-investment strategies, has named Tom Seitz, 52, president.
He will have primary responsibility for national sales distribution, marketing and account management.
Mr. Seitz was the senior vice president of wealth advisory services at
Minneapolis-based Piper Jaffray’ Inc.’s private-client group.

The Hartford (Conn.) Financial Services Group Inc. has appointed Daniel Andriola, 51, chief financial officer of the institutional solutions group within its U.S. wealth management division.
He was chief financial officer of Hartford Life’s private-placement business and will remain that business’ chief administration officer.

Contango Capital Advisors Inc., the Berkeley, Calif.-based wealth management arm of Zions Bancorp. Inc. in Salt Lake City, has promoted David Magee, 47, to the new position of president, from chief operating officer.
He will focus primarily on leading new-business development, which includes the firm’s wealth managers and marketing efforts.

The Wealth Advisor Institute in Washington has named Sydney LeBlanc to its board of directors.
Ms. LeBlanc, 59, who played a key role in helping to found the WAI, will devote her energies to drafting and developing training, educational, analysis and professional-development collateral for the institute and its members.

AXA Advisors LLC of New York has named Andrew McMahon, 40, chairman.
He was executive vice president of AXA Equitable Life Insurance Co.
In his new post, Mr. McMahon will have overall responsibility for the management of the company’s retail-distribution channel and will focus on recruiting, retention and staff development.

AIG Global Investment Group, a unit of American International Group Inc. in New York, has appointed Stewart Homler, 44, managing director of alternative investments for Japan.
He will oversee a wide range of alternative-investment strategies focused on the Japanese market.
Mr. Homler will be in the unit’s Tokyo office and report to Robert Thompson, New York-based senior managing director and head of global alternative investments.
