Two bills on Capitol Hill would require hedge fund advisers to register with securities regulators.

Two bills on Capitol Hill would require hedge fund advisers to register with securities regulators. HR 2586 would amend the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 to allow the Securities and Exchange Commission to require hedge funds to register with the agency. S 1402 essentially would do the same thing. Also, HR 2683 would require pension plans to disclose their investments in hedge funds. For a look at any of these bills, visit http://thomas.loc.gov.
