Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. will hire 250 people by the end of 2008 to staff a new technology center in Toronto.
The New York-based financial services company’s new facility will employ technology professionals with expertise in developing systems for the financial services industry, Merrill Lynch spokeswoman Danielle Robinson told Bloomberg.
The facility will develop systems for Merrill Lynch businesses including global data management, risk and analytics services as well as financial futures and options, Merrill said, according to published reports.
Merrill also has research and technology centers in Singapore; Camberley, United Kingdom; Dublin, Ireland and Jacksonville, Fla.
