Enhancing Investment Returns Through an Understanding of the Global Tax and Legal Rules Applying to Institutional Investors
We are delighted to invite you to attend our first annual Global Institutional Investor Training Program to be held in Amsterdam on June 5 and 6, 2008.
As the most global of law firms, Baker & McKenzie acts for the world’s top sovereign funds, private equity funds, pension funds, hedge funds and many others involved in institutional investment. As lawyers, we deal not only with the increasingly interesting cross-border tax issues involved in institutional investment but with the many legal issues, including disclosure and related requirements and, increasingly, minority shareholder rights and their enforcement around the world. Acquisitions are increasingly part of the investment profile of institutional investors, and here our focus is on cross-border tax and legal issues acquisitions give rise to.
LawInContext Pte. Ltd. was established by Baker & McKenzie to provide online interactive knowledge and training in a number of areas. LawInContext recently launched its Global Institutional Investor Helpdesk, an online resource of tax and legal information covering issues relevant to institutional investors. The Helpdesk will be used in our training program as a resource in a fun, case study based learning experience.
As with other training programs we run in a number of areas, it is our objective to establish our training program as the key professional development and networking event for the global institutional investor community. The program offers a unique opportunity to learn from our faculty of advisers working with institutional investors around the world. We are holding the program in the training facilities of our Amsterdam offices and we are confident that the venue and relaxed atmosphere will provide you with an enjoyable and useful two days.
