Insurance agents face new model regulation

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners in Kansas City, Mo., recently adopted a model regulation that aims to protect seniors from abusive sales practices and fraud.

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners in Kansas City, Mo., recently adopted a model regulation that aims to protect seniors from abusive sales practices and fraud. Under the regulation, insurance agents would be prohibited from using senior-specific certifications or professional designations in advising or servicing seniors in the purchase of life insurance and annuities.
