Machon replaces Neuger in AIG post

Monika Machon was named senior vice president and CIO of American International Group, in charge of insurance company portfolio management, according to a news release.

She succeeds Win Neuger, who will remain AIG Investments chairman and CEO, leading the external client asset management business currently up for sale, according to the release.

Ms. Machon will report directly to Edward J. Liddy, AIG chairman and CEO. She was global head of fixed income for AIG Investments and chairwoman of AIG Investments Europe. Information on a replacement could not be immediately learned.

Separately, Jeffrey J. Hurd was named senior vice president and head of asset management restructuring, in preparation for the sale of AIG Investments. Mr. Hurd will retain his previous duties as senior managing director, chief administrative officer and general counsel of AIG Investments. He will report to Paula R. Reynolds, AIG vice chairman.

AIG Investments had $676 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30, according to AIG Investments’ website.
