SEC: End to broker voting on horizon

Brokerage firms would be unable to vote the proxies of their clients under a rule the SEC is planning to modify, according to published reports.

Brokerage firms would be unable to vote the proxies of their clients under a rule the SEC is planning to modify, according to published reports. The rule change will apparently focus on changing the current standard that allows brokers to vote their clients’ shares in director elections. News reports say the SEC is expected to announce the rule change very soon.
