A subpoena will be served on the Federal Reserve to compel it to turn over documents related to Bank of America Corp.’s acquisition of Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. of New York.
The Domestic Policy Subcommittee of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has been investigating the circumstances surrounding the federal government’s bailout of the Bank of America-Merrill Lynch transaction, Rep. Darrell Issa, R.-Calif, ranking member of the House committee, said in a statement released today.
The committee is demanding that the documents be produced in time for a hearing to be held on Thursday, the statement said.
Bank of America is based in Charlotte, N.C.
