Merrill duo managing $350 million moves to UBS

Howard Woo, Luke Schell make the wirehouse switch in Irvine, California, and operate as Sequoia Partners.

Howard L. Woo and Luke C. Schell, who managed $350 million at Merrill Lynch, have joined the Irvine, California, office of UBS Wealth Management. The two operate as Sequoia Partners.

Woo, a 21-year industry veteran, had been with Merrill Lynch for 13 years. Schell, who began his career in 2001 at Merrill Lynch, worked at other firms before rejoining, Merrill in 2009.

The Sequoia Partners team advises high and ultra-high net worth individuals and families on comprehensive retirement and cash flow planning, estate planning strategies, and portfolio management, including asset allocation, risk management, equity and fixed income portfolio construction, as well as alternative investments, UBS said in a press release.
