Finra: Agency nixes discipline-record proposal

Finra has withdrawn a proposal to make disciplinary records of brokers permanently available to the public.

Finra has withdrawn a proposal to make disciplinary records of brokers permanently available to the public. Under current rules, a broker’s record generally becomes unavailable to the public two years after the broker leaves the securities industry. The proposed rule would have made those records a permanent part of Finra’s BrokerCheck service. For more information, visit finra.org/industry/regulation/rulefilings/2009/p118542.
