Philipp Hensler, the top U.S. executive for New York-based DWS Investments, has left the firm.
Mr. Hensler, whose last day at DWS was Aug. 21, is “moving on to pursue other opportunities outside the organization,” confirmed Lem Brewster, a spokesman for DWS, who would not give further details on Mr. Hensler’s departure.
He had been with DWS since 2005.
DWS Investments is the U.S. arm of the global money management business of Frankfurt, Germany-based Deutsche Bank AG.
DWS has moved quickly to replace Mr. Hensler, hiring Michael Woods — the former head of the financial intermediaries and investments group at Evergreen Investments — to take over his job.
Laura Fay, a spokeswoman for the Boston-based Evergreen, was not immediately available to offer information about Mr. Woods’ replacement.
