Newport Capital Group LLC has hired Jeff Loehwing, 39, as vice president of benefits.

Newport Capital Group LLC has hired Jeff Loehwing, 39, as vice president of benefits.

His responsibilities include developing the firm’s retirement plan and providing fiduciary consulting services to clients.

Previously, Mr. Loehwing was a regional retirement sales consultant with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., providing fiduciary consulting services for defined contribution and defined benefit plans.

Broadmark Asset Management LLC has added Jeffrey P. Cusack, 49, to its board of managers.

He is president of Forward Management LLC and is responsible for the firm’s investment product lineup and its expansion into the bank distribution channel.

Aviva USA Co. has promoted Christopher J. Littlefield, 43, to chief executive from chief operating officer.

He will lead Aviva USA’s indexed-annuity and life insurance businesses in the United States.

Previously, Mr. Littlefield managed Aviva USA’s operational business units such as insurance administration, corporate affairs, compliance and information technology.

Cohen & Steers Inc. has hired Mark Dickinson and Michael Miller as vice presidents and sales managers for the company’s registered investment adviser group.

Mr. Dickinson, 51, will be responsible for covering RIAs in the Western region. He replaces Erinn Landon, who retired this year.

Previously, Mr. Dickinson was vice president and sales manager of the Western region for Legg Mason Inc. His responsibilities included overseeing the company’s RIA and bank trust channels.

Mr. Miller, 41, will provide coverage to RIAs within the Central region.

Previously, he was vice president and sales manager of the Midwest region for Legg Mason, covering the RIA and bank trust channels.

ING Groep NV’s U.S. retirement services unit has named X. Rick Niu, 37, chief marketing officer.

He will develop customer- and distributor-focused research, and implement cross-organizational marketing and product synergies. In addition, Mr. Niu will continue to build multicultural sales and services

Previously, he was chief growth officer for ING North America Insurance Corp., where he managed growth market sales and cross-organizational business marketing.

Barclays Wealth has named Marty Courage, 53, a managing director and branch manager of the firm’s Boston office.

He will oversee the business in the New England region, including managing investment representatives, driving new regional business development and recruiting new talent.

Previously, Mr. Courage was head of the New England market for J.P. Morgan Private Wealth Management. There he was responsible for recruiting staff, driving business and establishing the business in New England.

The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. has named Michele W. Wetherald, 55, managing director of examinations, education and talent.

She will oversee the continuing development of the CFP certification examination; establish and enforce education standards for current and potential CFP certificants; and manage the hiring, retention and deployment of the board’s staff members.

Previously, Ms. Wetherald was executive director of the American Association of University Women.

Pryor McCormick Investments has hired Todd Harrell, 38, as a financial adviser.

He will be primarily responsible for managing 401(k) plans.

Previously, Mr. Harrell worked as a financial adviser in Birmingham, Ala., for Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. He managed individual accounts and broker-related business.

Hirtle Callaghan & Co. has hired Randall S. Burkert, 48, as regional director of its New York office.

His responsibilities will include creating and maintaining relationships with family groups, endowments, foundations and pension funds.

Previously, Mr. Burkert was a managing director at The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. He was co-founder of the firm’s global institutional group.
