The advisor, who reportedly managed $450M in client assets at UBS, is joining the Western division in California.
Raymond James has bolstered its West Coast presence yet again as it recruits an advisor from UBS.
The brokerage giant announced that it has expanded its employee advisor division with the hiring of Kalyn Walker, a financial advisor previously affiliated with UBS Financial Services.
From reportedly managing about $450 million in client assets, Walker has transitioned over to Raymond James & Associates in San Diego, California, according to California regional director John Simmons.
Walker, with over a decade and a half of experience in financial services, began her career at Merrill Lynch before her tenure at UBS.
Joining her at the San Diego branch of Raymond James are Sean Clancy, a senior investment portfolio analyst, and the branch manager, David Richman.
“The advisor experience provided by Raymond James is truly remarkable and has already exceeded every expectation,” Walker said in a statement.
Finding supportive colleagues and peers at RJA, she said the firm has “[created] an environment that feels boutique yet is backed by robust resources for both advisors and clients.”
She also appreciated the firm’s approach to financial management, emphasizing growth without excessive risk, which aligns with her client’s needs.
“We’re seeing remarkable momentum as exceptionally talented advisors continue to join our Western division,” Simmons said, expressing confidence that Walker will “carry forward her track record of success and dedication to client service.”
Last week, Raymond James nabbed a powerhouse $800 million team from Commonwealth Financial Network, bolstering its independent advisor arm and extending its presence in the Northeast.
Meanwhile, over in the Northwest, UBS lost ground to LPL as a $275 million advisor who caters to lawyers, small business owners, and widows launched his own independent practice.
