Actifi Inc. of Plymouth, Minn., has hired Brian Stimpfl, 42, as senior vice president of relationship management.

Actifi Inc. of Plymouth, Minn., has hired Brian Stimpfl, 42, as senior vice president of relationship management.

He is based in Huntington, N.Y., and is responsible for maintaining the company’s global growth strategy as it relates to the institutional adoption of core practice management software. Mr. Stimpfl will systemize ad- viser productivity and business growth, be responsible for providing adviser marketing and sales training, and aid in adviser transitions.

Previously, he was managing director of Jersey City, N.J.-based TD Ameritrade Institutional’s adviser advocacy and industry affairs.

Asset Dedication LLC of Mill Valley, Calif., has hired James D. Alfred, 46, as manager of adviser solutions.

He is responsible for managing client relationships and operations support.

Previously, Mr. Alfred was vice president at Black Diamond Performance Reporting of Jacksonville, Fla., where he led the expansion of the company’s sales in the Western region, as well as marketing and relationship management to independent financial advisers, wealth managers and custodians.

Folio Institutional of McLean, Va., has hired Rick Hope, 49, as vice president of sales in the Midwest region; Robert Steger, 47, as vice president of sales in the Pacific Northwest region; and David Turner, 52, as retirement consultant and vice president of sales in the Western region.

They are responsible for overseeing the maintenance and development of client relations and distributing Folio’s custody and portfolio management services, as well as its Ready-to-Go Folios.

Previously, Mr. Hope was a regional vice president of DWS Investments Distributors Inc. of Chicago, a unit of Frankfurt-based Deutsche Bank AG; Mr. Steger was West Coast sales manager for Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s New York-based Broadcort clearing division; and Mr. Turner was regional sales director for SEI Investments Co. of Oaks, Pa.

Sustainable Asset Management AG of Zurich has promoted Rainer Baumann, 40, Neil Johnson, 53, and Daniel Wild, 43, to its executive committee.

Mr. Baumann is responsible for the development of the investment process, optimizing portfolio strategies, de-signing team structures and maintaining the firm’s “sus-tainable multi-theme” strategy. He will retain his position as head of portfolio management.

Mr. Johnson is head of global clients and marketing, as well as a member of the executive committee. Previously, he was head of sales at SAM USA, where he built and maintained relationships with American clients.

Mr. Wild is head of research and a member of the executive committee. He oversees SAM’s research department, which conducts analysis on companies based on sustainability criteria. Previously, Mr. Wild was sector head of industrial-sector analysts at the SAM Sustainable Water Fund.

KBS Capital Advisors of Newport Beach, Calif., has hired Jeff Waldvogel, 33, as vice president and controller.

He is responsible for managing Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and technical accounting for the firm’s real estate portfolio.

Previously, Mr. Waldvogel was assurance senior manager in Irvine, Calif., for Ernst & Young LLP of New York.

New York Life Insurance Co. has hired Michael Stern, 41, as managing director and national sales manager, and Jason Buck, 41, as West Coast divisional sales manager.

Mr. Stern is responsible for leading the company’s national team of wholesalers working with wirehouses and regional broker-dealers to sell annuities, mutual funds and guaranteed-income products to advisers. Previously, he was national sales manager for investment products and annuities at Smith Barney of New York.

Mr. Buck is responsible for leading the West Coast regional team of wirehouse wholesalers. Previously, he was vice president and divisional sales manager at ING Individual Retirement in Windsor, Conn.
