UAT Inc. of Englewood, Colo., has brought David Collett, 52, aboard as a partner, chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

He is responsible for overseeing the financial services technology and consulting company’s day-to-day operational, administrative and financial activities.

Previously, Mr. Collett was treasurer and senior vice president of finance at Signature Group Holdings Inc. of Sherman Oaks, Calif.

The Investment Program Association of Ellicott City, Md., has hired Ken Montgomery, 41, as director of education.

He is responsible for leading the strategic planning and execution of the association’s education initiatives, as well as development and distribution of additional training resources.

Previously, Mr. Montgomery was director of the Wealth Management Academy at 1st Global Inc. of Dallas.

Euro Pacific Capital Inc. of Westport, Conn., has hired Matt Ward, 38, and his team, The Ward Group.

He will serve as managing director and is responsible for bringing new high-net-worth clients to the firm.

Mr. Ward will continue serving as managing director at The Ward Group of Los Angeles.

Newedge Group of Paris has hired Peter Ward, 45, as global head of marketing communications in New York.

He is responsible for leading the company’s marketing activities on a global scale.

Previously, Mr. Ward was an independent marketing and communications consultant in Newton, Conn., specializing in financial and professional services.

Financial Network Investment Corp. of El Segundo, Calif., has named Douglas King, 48, to the newly established position of president.

He will oversee national sales, regional-director and financial adviser practice development, and recruitment.

Previously, Mr. King was with Bank of America Corp. of Charlotte, N.C., serving in Minneapolis in the dual role of director of Bank of America Merrill Lynch of New York’s Minneapolis complex and as Minnesota state president for BofA.

Capital Investment Cos. of Raleigh, N.C., has expanded its team by hiring five financial advisers and adding their two firms.

Larry Stringer, 56, is the owner of Cornerstone Financial Strategies LLC, based in Hendersonville, N.C., and Kathy Stringer, 55, is a registered representative and the office manager at the firm.

David Van Horn, 54, is a registered principal and branch manager of Charter Financial Group of Hickory, N.C., and George Allen Martin, 38, and Randy Burke, 62, are registered reps for the firm.

Russell Investments of Seattle has hired Tom Goodwin, 64, for the newly created position of senior research director for Russell Indexes in New York.

He will help clients use Russell Indexes to understand capital market dynamics, measure market and portfolio performance, and gain efficient exposure to certain investment styles, market capitalizations or asset classes. Mr. Goodwin will research capital market and in- vesting trends, and assist in the firm’s index product development process.

Previously, he was a principal and founder of Wealth Econometrics LLC of Seattle, and the chief economist for Washington’s King County.
