Matthew Witkos, 45, was named chairman. The president of Eaton Vance Distributors Inc. of Boston, he previously was chairman-elect of the MMI.

John Moninger, 41, was named chairman-elect. The executive vice president for advisory and brokerage consulting services at LPL Financial LLC of San Diego, he previously was treasurer of the MMI.

Joseph Schultz, 40, was named treasurer. The managing director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management of New York, he formerly was secretary of the MMI.

Lorna Sabbia, 45, was named secretary. She is a managing director and head of the managed-solutions group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch of New York.

Capital Investment Cos. of Raleigh, N.C., said that it will start a hybrid broker-dealer office in Wilmington N.C.

Veteran manager Jerry Payne, 62, will lead the office.

He has built and expanded several other broker-dealer offices across the Southeast for major and small firms, and has worked as a financial advisory manager for more than 25 years.

Aquila Group of Funds in New York has named Randall Fillmore, 51, chief compliance officer.

In his new position in San Francisco, he will oversee Aquila Entities’ compliance programs and will work to enhance and develop various policies and procedures as needed.

Previously, Mr. Fillmore was the managing director of Fillmore & Associates of San Francisco, which he founded in 2009.

Gresham Partners LLC of Chicago has named Wallace Head, 62, vice chairman and principal.

He will lead the strategic initiatives to expand the business and serve as a senior adviser to families and their related entities.

Mr. Head was a founding member of Personal Fiduciary Advisers LLC, which has been merged with Gresham.

Northern Trust Corp. of Chicago has promoted Daniel Lindley, 61, to managing director of global family and private-investment offices within the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and the Middle East as of July 1.

He will be based in London and be responsible for expanding the company’s family office business in the above-named regions, and will have operational oversight of the group’s activities in London and Guernsey, Channel Islands.

Mr. Lindley will continue his role as chief fiduciary officer for Northern Trust Fiduciary Services (Guernsey) Ltd.

UAT Inc. of Denver has named Ken Paieski, 59, a partner and managing director.

He will lead sales initiatives to deliver savings and automation benefits to plan sponsors, public and Taft-Hartley plans, endowments, and foundations and money managers.

Previously, Mr. Paieski was vice president of institutional services at Janus Capital Group Inc. of Denver.

LPL Financial LLC of San Diego has named Bethany Bryant, 42, president of its Cleveland-based unit, The Private Trust Co. NA.

She was a founder of Private Trust and has served since then as chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
