Ex-Morgan Stanley rep investigated for trading abuses barred by Finra
Twenty-three year veteran Anthony Joseph Verzi decides not to testify during regulator's inquiry.
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. has barred former Morgan Stanley representative Anthony Joseph Verzi from the securities industry after he refused to testify at a hearing into alleged trading abuses.
Mr. Verzi, who was with Morgan Stanley in Melbourne, Fla., from 1993 until he was terminated in July 2016, refused to appear for testimony as requested by Finra in a letter dated May 2, 2017. The previous October, Finra began an investigation into Mr. Verzi’s potential unsuitable trading of unit investment trusts in customer accounts.
The matter was noted in a Finra Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent, in which Mr. Verzi accepted and consented to the Finra ban and other conditions without admitting or denying Finra’s findings.
