Outside activities lead Finra to bar former J.P. Morgan rep

A hearing no-show, Pavel Shklyar of New Jersey was terminated last month.

Pavel Shklyar, a former J.P. Morgan Securities broker in Haworth, N.J., has been barred by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority for failing to take part in a hearing looking at his outside business activities.

In February, according to Finra’s BrokerCheck database, after his firm asked him to provide information about his possible outside activities, it received a regulatory request about those activities. Mr. Shklyar declined to provide the information to the firm, according to BrokerCheck, and his employment was terminated.

Mr. Shklyar began his career at Josepthal in 1996, and was several firms over the years, including Bernard L. Madoff Securities, until joining Merrill Lynch in 2012. He moved to J.P. Morgan in 2015.
