On April 17, 2019 at the Hotel Eventi in New York City, InvestmentNews will host the 2019 InvestmentNews Innovation Summit, a gathering of the brightest minds and biggest names in the financial advice industry, including the 2019 InvestmentNews Icons & Innovators. What was previously an invite-only think tank, will now be opened to the public for a larger exchange of ideas and networking opportunity.

InvestmentNews has put together an ambitious agenda with the help of its esteemed advisory board along with Joe Duran, CEO of United Capital, who has agreed to serve as chairman of this prestigious industry event.

“Current success can be one of the biggest roadblocks to the future. We see this in firms that struggle with plateaus and we see it when industry leaders get too comfortable with their market share and coast on inertia until they are overtaken by competitors,” said Joe Duran, founder and CEO of United Capital and 2019 chair of the InvestmentNews Icons & Innovators Committee. “To paraphrase Jack Welch, change is the oxygen of growth. The entrepreneurs we celebrate at Icons & Innovators are people who embrace change in all its forms, and it’s this vision that will carry our industry to new heights.”

The half-day gathering will feature panel discussions and TED-style talks, followed by an awards dinner that includes a one-on-one interview with the 2019 InvestmentNews Icon, Sheryl Garrett, founder of Garrett Planning Network.

“Opening this event to more people will provide greater opportunities to uncover innovative solutions for advisers’ most pressing issues,” said Fred Gabriel, editorial director of InvestmentNews. “The event will highlight the latest approaches to improving the client experience and outcomes, as well as other new approaches that will be essential to operating advisory firms of the future.”
