InvestmentNews is accepting nominations for the Community Leadership Awards, presented by this publication and the Invest in Others Foundation.
Four awards will be given:
• The volunteer-team award will be presented to a team of advisers or office staff for their collective involvement of at least three years as volunteers for a charity in their community.
• The community leadership award will be given to an adviser who is nominated by their service or civil organization as a volunteer board member or committee member of at least five years.
• The mentoring excellence award will be presented to an adviser who has been an active mentor to a young adult for at least three years and has demonstrated qualities as a role model and a “champion of youth.”
• The volunteer-of-the-year award will be given to an adviser who has served as a volunteer at a local non-profit organization, in a leadership capacity or as a board member for at least five years and whose contribution has made a lasting impact.
Advisers with outstanding philanthropic achievements will be honored at an awards dinner in New York on Sept. 26. Three finalists will be chosen for each category.
The finalists will be notified by August.
Winners will be announced at the dinner, where former college and pro football coach Lou Holtz will give the keynote speech.
The Invest in Others Foundation will make a donation of $10,000 to the award winner’s charity of choice in each category.
The deadline for nominations is July 9. Nomination forms can be obtained at investmentnews.com/ community awards.
