Schwab’s McWhinney retires

Charles Goldman is assuming her role of president of the custody division of Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. of San Francisco according to an e-mail sent to all Schwab employees by Charles “Chuck” Schwab, chairman and chief executive of The Charles Schwab Corp.
Mr. Goldman was chief operating officer of Schwab Institutional,
Ms. McWhinney, 52, survived breast cancer last year but that did not prompt her departure, said Alison Wertheim, a Schwab spokeswoman.
“Her health is fine,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ben Brigeman has taken over as president of Schwab Investor Services [Schwab’s retail brokerage division], filling a role vacated by Walter Bettinger when he became president of The Charles Schwab Corp. earlier this year.
