The fixed-income market took a beating in the first quarter. As the war in Ukraine increased inflationary pressures, the Federal Reserve raised rates for the first time since 2018 and made it clear that there are more rate hikes to come.
Over the first three months of the year, the Bloomberg Barclays US Aggregate Bond Index fell 5.9%, while Treasuries fell 5.6% and investment-grade bonds dropped 7.8%.
