Your benefits may be taxed
More than half of Social Security beneficiaries pay income taxes on a portion of their Social Security benefits. If your total income is more than $25,000 for an individual or $32,000 for a married couple filing jointly, you must pay federal income taxes on up to 85% of your Social Security benefits.
