David Kahn, a prominent wealth manager specializing in ultra-high-net-worth clients for Wilmington Trust Company for the past four years, has joined Convergent Wealth Advisors as a director in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
Mr. Kahn managed over $100 million for individuals and families while at Wilmington.
At Convergent, he will work with clients who have over $10 million in investible assets and provide advice on estate planning, investment strategy, asset allocation and portfolio construction.
He will report to Steve Aucamp, a Convergent managing director in charge of ultra high-net-worth accounts.
Hiring Mr. Kahn, Mr. Aucamp said, was a measure of the firm’s confidence in the growth potential of the Los Angeles market.
“We’ve had very significant growth in Los Angeles and see a tremendous opportunity to continue to expand our presence there,” Mr. Aucamp said.
Convergent’s wealth managers in Los Angeles have doubled to ten in the past year, he said.
Firm-wide, the number of Convergent’s wealth managers has increased from 40 to 50 in the past year, according to Mr. Aucamp.
Convergent, which has assets under management of $10 billion and is headquartered in Rockville, Md., is a subsidy of City National Corp. of Los Angeles.
