Former ING Advisors chief executive John Simmers resurfaces
John Simmers, former chief executive to the ING Advisors Network, has joined The Compliance Department Inc. of Centennial, Colo., as director of risk-management product development.
John Simmers, the former chief executive of the ING Advisors Network, has joined The Compliance Department Inc. of Centennial, Colo., as director of risk-management product development.
The Compliance Department is a consulting firm that develops technical tools for broker-dealers and investment advisers.
Mr. Simmers “can open some doors for us” to help expand sales of the company’s products, said Chet Hebert, founder of the firm.
As chief executive of ING Advisors of Atlanta, Mr. Simmers had responsibility for four broker-dealers with about 8,700 reps. He left the firm earlier this year.
In 2006, he was elected to the board of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. of New York and Washington, a seat he held until June.
Mr. Simmers is also a past chairman of the Financial Services Institute Inc. of Atlanta.
