TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. has named Phillip A. Bowman as the company’s new chief marketing officer.
Mr. Bowman will join the company “in the next couple of weeks,” TD Ameritrade said in a statement last week. He most recently served as senior vice president of corporate marketing for TD Bank Group in Toronto.
Mr. Bowman will be based in TD Ameritrade’s Jersey City, N.J. office.
As chief marketing officer, Mr. Bowman will lead all marketing strategy, advertising, brand management, database marketing, client marketing and client communications for TD Ameritrade, according to TD Ameritrade spokeswoman Kristin Petrick.
The role oversees both retail and institutional marketing efforts, she said.
Paul Zettl, managing director for TD Ameritrade Institutional, will report to Mr. Bowman.
Mr. Zettl will “continue to manage the daily marketing and advertising activities for the institutional [custodial] business,” Ms. Petrick said.
The chief marketing post had been open since January, when Laurine Garrity left the firm to take over the top marketing post at The Charles Schwab Corp.
