Wilmington Trust adds former FBI head to its board of directors
Louis Freeh, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation under President Bill Clinton, has joined the board of directors of Wilmington Trust — bringing a clear anti-fraud and compliance-oriented presence to the Delaware trust bank and wealth manager.

Freeh is senior managing partner of Freeh Group International, a global risk management consulting firm, and its legal arm, Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan. In addition to his tenure at the FBI, Freeh worked as a U.S. attorney and federal judge in the Southern District of New York.
“Louis’ perspective on complex matters and his ability to recommend effective solutions will be tremendous assets to us,” Ted Cecala, chairman and chief executive of Wilmington Trust, said in a statement.
Mr. Freeh has taken the place of Thomas du Pont, who resigned for “business and family considerations,” the statement said.
Calls to Wilmington Trust were referred to Mr. Cecala, who was traveling and could not be immediately reached for comment
