401(k) record keepers launch CIKR

An association has been formed to educate and advocate about issues relevant to 401(k) independent record keepers.

A group of independent 401(k) plan record keepershave formed a new organization called the Council of Independent 401(k) Recordkeepers.
The goal of this Arlington, Va.-based organization is to educate and advocate about issues relevant to independent record keepers, the group said in a statement.

“The CIKR organization will now give independent 401(k) plan record keepers a voice in ongoing policy discussions concerning the disclosure of fees and other record-keeping issues relating to 401(k) plans,” said Tommy Thomasson, CIKR chairman and chief executive of DailyAccess Corporation, in a statement.
Already, 14 companies are part of this organization, including Princeton, New Jersey-based ExpertPlan Inc.; Seattle-based Milliman Inc.; Peoria, Ill.-based The Alliance Benefit Group and Atlanta-based Reliance Trust Company.
