Randy Abeles is a managing director and leads the Private Wealth and Tax Advisory Services Group for RSM McGladrey’s Great Lakes Region for the Great Lakes practice. He has 30 years of tax and personal financial planning experience. Randy is an MST/registered investment advisor who advises senior executives, owners of highly successful privately held businesses and other significantly high-net-worth investors. He works extensively with high-net-worth individuals, service organizations and closely held companies, providing guidance through tax regulations.

Randy is an expert in a number of key areas of personal financial planning. He combines his knowledge as an individual tax expert with his background in all areas of investment to develop tax-efficient investment plans for his clients. Randy counsels his clients regarding all areas of asset protection. He incorporates many sophisticated asset protection strategies including the use of insurance, entity planning and the establishment of offshore trusts. Finally, Randy advises his clients regarding other issues such as business succession, charitable giving and intergenerational family wealth.

In the context of his expertise and vast experience, Randy counsels his clients on all of their financial matters and helps them maximize their opportunities, as well as avoid costly pitfalls. He utilizes a comprehensive approach to financial planning, by integrating the client’s investment policy, tax planning opportunities and estate plan. Randy applies this comprehensive approach by first learning the client’s objectives, then developing an integrated financial plan, and finally, by helping the client implement that plan.

Randy’s expertise includes such projects as individual tax preparation for high-net-worth individuals, due diligence on real estate investments for investors and providing partnerships with assistance on complex transactions. He structures new ventures and offers his significant experience in introducing clients to creative financing avenues.

Randy’s mission statement is to be the primary trusted advisor and personal CFO for each of his clients. He accomplishes his goals by passionately taking personal responsibility for the planning needs of every client, as well as coordinating the efforts of the client’s other professional advisors.

Professional affiliations. Randy is an active member in the National Association of Real Estate Companies (NAREC) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Tax Division, as well as a founding member of the Real Estate Investment Association (REIA).
Education. Randy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science degree in taxation from DePaul University.
