Another bill aiming to rein in the effect of the alternative minimum tax was introduced last month. HR 1112, introduced by Rep. Thomas Reynolds, R-N.Y., would extend relief from the tax for 2007. The measure, which has 34 co-sponsors, comes on the heels of similar bills introduced this year. S 55 would repeal the AMT; S 102 would extend and expand relief from the AMT, along with repealing the 2005 extension of lower rates for capital gains and dividends for 2009 and 2010.
