The Bear Stearns Cos. Inc. saw its worst one-day trading drop in 10 years today amidst speculation that the New York-based company lacks sufficient access to capital, according to published reports.

That’s the lowest levels the firm has seen since March of 2003, published reports said.
The Wall Street firm is coming off its first negative quarter when the company reported a $854 million fourth-quarter loss.
