The SEC has proposed a rule that would allow exchange traded funds to come on the market without obtaining individual exemptive orders from securities regulators.

The SEC has proposed a rule that would allow exchange traded funds to come on the market without obtaining individual exemptive orders from securities regulators. The proposal would apply to both indexed ETFs and actively managed ETFs. Comments were due in May. For a look at the proposal, visit sec.gov/rules/proposed/2008/33-8901.pdf.
