Executive rises at Sun Life Retirement

Sun Life Retirement Services has named Jed Collins as its new president, succeeding Claud Accum.

Sun Life Retirement Services Inc. has named Jed Collins as its new president.
Mr. Collins will succeed Claud Accum, who will take on an unspecified leadership role at parent company Sun Life Financial Inc., according to a statement by Sun Life.
Mr. Collins has worked at Sun Life Retirement Services and its predecessor firm, MFS Investment Management, since 2004.
He is the company’s senior vice president and chief business officer.
He will be responsible for company strategy pricing, management, technology and product development.
Mr. Collins will report to Sun Life Financial U.S. president Robert C. Salipante and will become part of the Senior Leadership Team at Sun Life.
He led the team that helped transition of the retirement services division from MFS Investment Management to Sun Life, launch an open architecture investment platform and product, and the double the size of the company’s field service and sales teams, according to the statement.
Sun Life Financial Inc., which is based in Toronto, managed $408 billion in assets as of June 30.
