The Labor and Treasury departments are asking for public input about the use of annuities in defined-contribution plans, such as 401(k)s. Last month, the agencies said they are seeking information about the subject, including the advantages and disadvantages of distributing benefits as a lifetime stream of income and the type of information participants need when making decisions about their form of retirement income.
