The Senate Finance Committee last month held its second hearing on reforming the U.S. tax code.

The Senate Finance Committee last month held its second hearing on reforming the U.S. tax code. Proposals from testifying witnesses included moving toward a consumption tax structure and the general idea of a flat tax. Additional hearings on tax reform are planned; a hearing is planned for June 5 to focus on business taxation.
