Finra bars former broker in investigation no-show

Stephen Woods allegedly settled customer complaint on his own.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. has barred former broker Stephen J. Woods from the securities industry for failing to take part in a hearing looking into his alleged misconduct.

Mr. Woods was terminated by PHX Financial in January.

In July 2009, Mr. Woods consented to a Finra finding that he had settled a customer complaint without notifying his firm, violating Finra rules. At that time, he was suspended for 10 business days in all capacities and fined $5,000.
