FSI adds almost 8,000 members in ’07

The Financial Services Institute claimed 12,600 active Financial Advisor members at the end of 2007.

The Financial Services Institute claimed 12,600 active Financial Advisor members at the end of 2007, the institute announced today.
FSI added 7,892 new Financial Advisor members for the year and renewed 4,628 for an 88.5% renewal rate.
That represents a 141% increase over 2006, the Atlanta-based organization said in a statement.
“This strong base of Financial Advisor members will enable us to influence the outcome of our priority issues of preserving 12b-1 fees, clarifying the application of privacy rules to our business model, and defending against efforts to impose services taxes on our members, said Dale E. Brown, president and chief executive FSI.
