GAO study urges guidance for pension plan investments

A report issued recently by the Government Accountability Office said the Labor Department should provide pension plans with guidance on investing in hedge funds and private equity.

A report issued recently by the Government Accountability Office said the Labor Department should provide pension plans with guidance on investing in hedge funds and private equity. Data in the report show that between 21% and 27% of mid- to large-size plans invest in hedge funds and more than 40% invest in private equity.
