Hedge fund registration expected to reappear

The ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee said recently that he plans to revive legislation that would require hedge funds to register with the SEC.

The ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee said recently that he plans to revive legislation that would require hedge funds to register with the SEC. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said a bill in the next Congress will be modeled after S 1402, which he introduced in May 2007. The measure, which was referred to the Banking Committee, was never considered.
