Tax breaks sought for small-biz investors.
Investors in certain small businesses could get a tax break under a bill introduced in January. Called the Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs Act of 2007, HR 578 would create a 25% tax credit for accredited investors and certain partnerships that invest cash or cash equivalents in small businesses under certain circumstances.
Limitations would apply, including how long the investor would have to hold the investment and the maximum amount eligible for the credit.
