A new survey suggests that independent investment advisers are becoming more optimistic about the economy.

Online brokerage TD Ameritrade of Omaha says roughly half of the advisers surveyed have an optimistic outlook about the economy in the next three months. That’s roughly double the number of advisers who were feeling optimistic in May.

Ameritrade hired business research company Maritz to conduct the phone survey in August and September. The survey of 501 advisers has a margin of error of 4.4 percentage points.
