LPL snags team managing $610 million from Raymond James

Global Advisor Group, which managed $610 million in brokerage and advisory assets at Raymond James, has switched to LPL Financial’s broker-dealer and registered investment adviser platforms.

Founded by James Barnette in 1999, when he affiliated with Raymond James, Global Advisor Group serves individual and institutional clients in all 50 states and 106 countries. The 22-member team includes 14 financial advisers and is based in Reston, Va., outside Washington.

The independent firm will use Private Advisor Group as its office of supervisory jurisdiction.
