Three weeks after taking charge of investment banking and capital markets at Merrill Lynch Andrea Orcel named his regional deputies today, according to published reports.
Last month, Merill reshuffled its senior management after trading and investment banking co-head Dow Kim quit.
Mr. Orcel, who headed investment banking in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, became global head of origination, which includes advising clients on financing and takeovers.
Purna Saggurti will run the origination teams in the Americas from New York, while Mark Aedy will take up the same role in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Amir Hoveyda, who ran debt capital markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, will assume leadership of a separate business managing Merrill’s relationships with financial institutions.
Hong Kong-based Damian Chunilal will keep his position as head of investment banking and capital markets in the Asia-Pacific region.
