Northern Trust Global Investments, the asset management arm of Chicago-based Northern Trust Corp., has appointed Kevin Hardy managing director of international sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region. It also has appointed Grant Johnsey head of transition management in North America and Simon Hutchinson head of transition management internationally.
Mr. Hardy, 35, joined the firm in 2003 as head of transition management, Europe, and became global head of transition management in 2004. He will retain his transition management responsibilities and will relocate from Chicago back to London.
Mr. Johnsey, 30, and Mr. Hutchinson, 36, will be responsible for strategy and implementation across their respective regions and, collectively, for the direction of the transition management group. They joined Northern Trust Global Investments in 2004 and previously were senior transition management strategists.

T. Rowe Price Group Inc. of Baltimore has named Cynthia L. Egan president of T. Rowe Price Retirement Plan Services Inc., a subsidiary that offers comprehensive defined contribution plan services to companies nationwide.
Ms. Egan, 51, will lead the organization’s efforts to provide investment management, record keeping, client servicing, participant education and compliance services to more than 2,900 plans with more than 1.5 million participants.
She was an executive vice president at Fidelity Investments in Boston, where she led corporate initiatives to address the firm’s global-retirement-service practices.

Hotvet Financial Advisors in Pasadena, Calif., recently was formed by James L. Hotvet.
Prior to starting the firm, Mr. Hotvet, 53, was associated with SSI Investment Management Inc. of Beverly Hills, Calif., Analytic Investors Inc. of Los Angeles and Primecap Management Co. of Pasadena.

Summit Brokerage Services Inc. of Boca Raton, Fla., has appointed Vere Reynolds-Hale to the newly created position of executive vice president of product marketing and development.
Mr. Reynolds-Hale, 38, has more than 14 years’ experience in financial services. Most recently, he was vice president of sponsor relationships with LPL Financial Services of Boston and San Diego.

Bloom Asset Management Inc. of Farmington Hills, Mich., has hired Michael Pominville, 46, as a financial adviser.
He will provide financial planning and investment services for the firm’s clients.
Mr. Pominville was a senior account manager and investment specialist with San Francisco-based Charles Schwab & Co. Inc.

Advisors Asset Management, a division of Fixed Income Securities LP in Monument, Colo., has hired Eugene E. Peroni Jr., 55, as senior vice president.
He will be responsible for unit investment trust product development, as well as equity portfolio management. Mr. Peroni will be based in Philadelphia. He was senior managing director of equity research for Claymore Advisors LLC of Lisle, Ill.

Stanford Group Co., a New York-based member of the Stanford Financial Group, has hired Nigel Bowman, 49, as senior vice president/financial adviser in the company’s private-client group in Austin, Texas.
He comes to Stanford from Smith Barney in New York, where he worked for 17 years, most recently as first vice president of wealth management.
Also, Leo Schrutt, 50, was named senior managing director at Stanford Group (Suisse) AG, the Zurich, Switzerland-based member of Stanford Financial Group.
His primary responsibility will be to expand Stanford’s wealth management business in Europe, as well as the Middle East. Mr. Schrutt most recently was head of research and portfolio management for the company’s private-banking division.

AIG SunAmerica Retirement Markets Inc., a Los Angeles-based subsidiary of AIG Retirement Services Inc., has named Stewart McGough, 34, national account manager of the financial-institutions division.
He is responsible for developing and strengthening key business partnerships with top-focus firms.
Mr. McGough will report to Michael Loftus, senior vice president and managing director of AIG SunAmerica Retirement Markets.
Most recently, Mr. McGough served as a regional vice president at Boston-based John Hancock Financial Services Inc., where he was responsible for wholesaling annuities to banks and other financial institutions.

Russell Investment Group, a Tacoma, Wash.-based subsidiary of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Milwaukee, has tapped Scott Cunningham, 48, as the director of national partnerships in its U.S. mutual fund distribution business.
Mr. Cunningham was a client executive within Russell’s U.S. distribution group and previously served as a marketing manager in the corporate marketing group.
