Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Philadelphia has appointed George W. Bentham, 54, senior vice president of its career agency system. He worked most recently as a consultant for Toronto-based Independent Order of Foresters. He succeeds Dick Liburdi, who left the company in January.

Steven R. Pribramsky, 37, has been hired as general agent for the new career agency in Rosemont, Ill. Most recently, he was general agent for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. in the Chicago area.

Walnut Street Securities Inc.of St. Louis has named Bridget Wilson, 35, director of operations for the broker-dealer division. She will retain the title of director of technology.

Maureen M. Sheehan, 30, has been promoted to the new post of assistant to the president, working on strategic planning and analysis. She had been assistant counsel.

American College in Bryn Mawr, Pa., has named Louis P. DiCerbo II to a two-year term as chair of the advisory council of the president’s circle. Mr. DiCerbo, a general agent at Philadelphia-based Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co., had been chair of the college’s national giving council.

Investment Company Institute in Washington has hired Timothy Forde as vice president-strategic analysis, a new position. He previously was senior policy adviser to Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Arthur Levitt. Earlier he served as counsel to Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass.) when the congressman was chairman of the House Telecommunications and Finance Subcommittee, after which he was minority counsel to the House Commerce Committee.

American Century Investments of Kansas City, Mo., has changed its investment adviser sales team.

Mitch Wurzer, the new national sales manager, is a member of the national accounts team and serves as the primary liaison with Charles Schwab & Co. Previously, Mr. Wurzer, 30, was an institutional sales manager.

Kelly Mordini and Casey McCarthy have joined the team as external relationship managers for the South Central and North Central regions, respectively. Previously, Ms. Mordini, 33, served as institutional sales manager on the insurance sales and marketing team and Mr. McCarthy, 29, was a retirement education consulatant in the retirement plan services department.

Kristi Iglehart and Stefanie Pyle have become institutional marketing representatives in the Southeast and Southwest, respectively. Ms. Iglehart, 30, transferred from the institutional service division, while Ms. Pyle, 30, was a sales representative in the institutional service department.

Starwood Financial Trust of New York has appointed Thomas M. Mulroy, 35, senior vice president of investments. Previously he was senior vice president of New York-based Lazard Frères & Co., where he was responsible for $1.8 billion of senior and subordinate financings.

Columbia Management Co. of Portland, Ore., has added three members to its investment team.

Ajay Mehra, 33, is a vice president and securities analyst in the household products, personal care and leisure sectors. he had been a consumer products analyst at Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York.

Michael J. Martin, 29, is a stock analyst in the electric and gas utilities and forest products sectors. He too was an analyst at Morgan Stanley.

Sabrina Yih is a vice president and portfolio manager, responsible for stock selection in Europe, Hong Kong and China. She had been a portfolio manager and securities analyst at New York-based Delphi Asset Management.

Fannie Mae has appointed Sally B. Hernandez-Pinero a managing director of its American Communities Fund. She comes from New York law firm Kalkines Arky Zall & Bernstein, where she worked on public finance.

Loewenbaum & Co. of Austin, Texas, has elected Howard Brenner president. He founded Brenner Securities, a predecessor firm to Loewenbaum, in 1990. In addition, Mr. Brenner, 65, also served as president of Drexel Burnham Lambert.

Mutual Service Corp. of West Palm Beach, Fla., has promoted to first vice president Susan Coates, 50, assistant operations manager; Donna Cronin, 39, MIS manager; and Mari-Jean Philip, 45, director of field development.

PaineWebber Inc. of New York has apointed William McKeever, 43, senior vice president and health care services research analyst, new positions. He had been an analyst with New York-based Schroder & Co.
