NPH chief named to follow Dreffein

James Livingston has been tapped as CEO of National Planning Holdings, replacing Shawn Dreffein.

James Livingston has been named CEO of National Planning Holdings Inc., an independent broker-dealer network in Santa Monica, Calif.
He replaces Shawn Dreffein, who will retire effective this Thursday.
Ms. Dreffein, 51, has been with the company since its creation in 1998, and is a 25-year veteran of the financial services industry.
Mr. Livingston, 52, is currently vice president of operations for Jackson National Life Distributors, Inc., which is part of Lansing, Mich.-based Jackson National Life Insurance Co.
He will continue in that role in addition to his work at NPH.
