Previously, he was a recruiter with the independent broker-dealer Commonwealth Financial Network of Waltham, Mass.

Rochdale Investment Management LLC of New York has hired Derek A. Roy, 33, as vice president of investment consulting.

He is responsible for business development and relationship management.

Previously, Mr. Roy held the position of vice president at Jackson National Asset Management LLC of Lansing, Mich.

Blankinship & Foster LLC, a fee-only family wealth advisory firm in Solana Beach, Calif., has hired Monica Ma, 26, as assistant investment manager.

Previously, she served as an investment strategy assistant at Kochis Fitz/Quintile, a wealth management firm based in San Francisco.

Merlin Securities LLC of New York, a broker-dealer that specializes in technology-driven prime-brokerage services, has hired Ian Isaacs, 53, as a senior partner, director of research and a member of the executive committee.

Previously, he worked at Zurich, Switzerland-based UBS AG as a senior vice president.

MFC Global Investment Management LLC of Boston has named Frank Saeli, 46, head of U.S. institutional sales and relationship management.

He will also serve as a member of the firm’s management committee.

Previously, Mr. Saeli was with State Street Global Advisors in Boston as a vice president and principal, responsible for new-business development in the corporate pension, endowment and foundation, insurance and not-for-profit markets.

Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. of New York has appointed Thomas K. Montag, 51, head of global sales and trading.

He will be responsible for all such activities and will report to John A. Thain, Merrill’s chairman and chief executive.

Until December, when he left the company, Mr. Montag was with The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. of New York, where he was co-head of the global-securities business and a member of the company’s management committee.

U.S. Trust Bank of America Private Wealth Management has hired several professionals in New York, where it is headquartered.

Ada Clapp, 47, Michael Josephs, 43, and Nancy Kistner, 46, have joined as wealth strategies advisers.

Ms. Clapp was with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP of Washington, where she was a partner and served as co-head of the New York private client services group.

Mr. Josephs had been a director in the private company services group at PricewaterhouseCoopers of New York.

Ms. Kistner previously was with Citi Global Wealth Advisory Services of New York, where she served as head of financial planning for Citi Private Bank.

Jaclyn Kim, 34, associate wealth strategist, who previously practiced law at Duane Morris LLP of Philadelphia.

David Polansky, 44, city executive for New York, who most recently served as an independent consultant at JPMorgan Chase & Co. of New York.

Charles Walker, 42, wealth consultant, who served as a private-client relationship manager at New York-based HSBC Bank USA NA in Buffalo, N.Y.

John Dawson, 47, private-client manager, who was a vice president of institutional equity sales at Wall Street Access of New York.

Noah Kupferman, 40, private-client manager, who was a financial adviser at Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. in New York.

Stephanie Young, 41, private-client adviser, who was a managing director at Muirfield Capital Management of New York.

Peter Burkly, 37, portfolio manager, who came from Northern Trust Corp. of Chicago, where he was a senior portfolio manager.

John Lori, 39, portfolio manager, who was a managing member of JDL Partners LP of Garden City, N.Y.

Donna McGoey, 38, specialty asset manager, who was a real estate project manager at Cushman & Wakefield Inc. of New York.

Delaware Investments of Philadelphia has hired Antonio Tan-Torres, 47, as the first member of its newly formed structured solutions group as vice president.

Previously, he was director of pension analytics for Merrill Lynch Retirement Group of Pennington, N.J.
