Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP of New York has hired Ronald M. Feiman, 57, as a partner in the firm’s financial services group. Previously, he was a partner with Mayer Brown of Chicago.

American Realty Capital of Boston has appointed Nicholas Corvinus, 60, executive managing director of Realty Capital Securities LLC, its broker- dealer arm.

The company has also hired Louisa Quarto, 40, as senior vice president of Realty Capital Advisors LLC, the external manager of American Realty Trust Inc.

Previously, Mr. Corvinus was senior vice president with Behringer Harvard Reit I Inc. of Addison, Texas.

Ms. Quarto was the executive director and chief managing officer of Carey Financial LLC, a subsidiary of W.P. Carey & Co. LLC of New York.

FTSE Group of London has hired Ronnee Ades, 48, as the business unit head of its alternatives division.

She comes to FTSE from Dow Jones Indexes of New York, where she was most recently senior director of institutional markets. Ms. Ades also served as executive director of the Dow Jones Wilshire Indexes technical advisory committee.

John Hancock Financial Services Inc. of Boston has elected James F. Carlin, 67, independent chairman of the board of trustees.

He is the chairman and chief executive of Carlin Consolidated Inc. of Natick, Mass.

Mr. Carlin succeeds Ronald R. Dion, who passed away in December.

Structured Portfolio Management LLC of Stamford, Conn., has hired Charles Smart, 49, as the asset manager’s senior vice president of trading and portfolio management.

Previously, he spent five years as a director at Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. of New York.

Stockgroup Information Systems Inc. of Vancouver, B.C., has hired Theresa McVean, 44, as vice president of advertising sales.

Previously, she was managing director of online advertising for Star Media Group of Toronto.

SKBA Capital Management of San Francisco has named Andrew W. Bischel, 56, chief executive.

He will continue his duties as the firm’s chief investment officer.

The company has also appointed Joshua Rothe, 37, president. He previously served as director of research.

Both Mr. Bischel and Mr. Rothe will serve on SKBA’s board.

Zecco Holdings Inc. of Burlingame, Calif., has hired Michael Raneri, 42, as chief information officer.

Previously, he was chief executive of MeeVee Inc., also of Burlingame.

Mr. Raneri has been a member of Zecco’s board since last year.

ReFlow Management Co. LLC of San Francisco has hired Paul Schaeffer, 57, as its president.

He will also serve as director of strategic planning at ReFlow’s sister company, Forward Management LLC, also of San Francisco.

Prior to joining ReFlow, Mr. Schaeffer was managing director at SEI Investments Co. of Oaks, Pa.

National Life Group of Montpelier, Vt., has hired Edward J. Parry, 48, as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Previously, he served as director and executive vice president of The Hanover Insurance Group of Worcester, Mass.

New York Life Investment Management LLC has hired Bill Kline, 43, as vice president of sales for New York Life Retirement Plan Services.

He joins the company from Captrust Financial Advisors of Raleigh, N.C., where he served as managing director.

KPMG LLP of New York has hired Deanna Flores, 43, as a principal to serve clients in the financial services sector.

Previously, she was general tax counsel at The Vanguard Group Inc. of Malvern, Pa.

Lincoln National Corp. of Philadelphia has hired Peter Welsh, 42, as divisional sales director for the western division of the wire channel of the Lincoln employer markets’ defined contribution business segment.

Previously, he was senior vice president for Transamerica Retirement Services of Los Angeles.

Litman/Gregory Asset Management LLC of Orinda, Calif., has hired Alice Lowenstein, 40, as the firm’s director of managed portfolios.

Previously, she was vice president and director of investment communications with Fidelity Investments of Boston.
