Investment Planners Inc. of Decatur, Ill., has hired Benjamin E. Bramer, 36, as chief compliance officer/chief administrative officer.

Previously, Mr. Bramer was chief compliance officer of M Holdings Securities Inc. and M Financial Asset Management Inc., which are subsidiaries of M Financial Group in Portland, Ore.

Freedom Investors Corp. of Brookfield, Wis., has hired Gideon Kory, 48, as managing director of mergers and acquisitions, and institutional finance.

Previously, he worked for Roth Capital Partners LLC, a Newport Beach, Calif., investment bank that specializes in small- and micro-cap companies.

RegentAtlantic Capital LLC of Chatham, N.J., has promoted Megan Brozowski, 32, and Thomas Farrell, 33, to wealth managers.

Ms. Brozowski has worked at RegentAtlantic since 2002 as an analyst and focuses on women affected by divorce.

Mr. Farrell has served as an analyst for the company since 2000.

Lord Abbett & Co. LLC of Jersey City, N.J., announced that partner Robert Fetch, 55, has been appointed director of domestic-equity portfolio management, a new position.

He will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm’s domestic-equity portfolio managers.

Mr. Fetch will relinquish his role as portfolio manager for the firm’s small-cap-value strategy, retain his responsibilities as lead portfolio manager for the multi-cap-value strategy and assume new responsibility as lead portfolio manager for the mid-cap-value strategy.

Gerry Heffernan, 45, a partner, will assume lead portfolio management responsibilities for Lord Abbett’s small-cap-value strategy, while continuing his role as the lead portfolio manager for the micro-cap-value strategy.

Alpha Search Advisory Partners of Roslyn, N.Y., has hired Danny Chu, 32, as director of fulfillment.

Previously, he was a managing partner at Harbor Seafood Inc. in New Hyde Park, N.Y.

Palisades Capital Advisors LLC of Washington has hired Charles P. Blahous, 45, as a senior adviser in the firm’s New York office.

He will work with the firm’s principals in identifying investment opportunities, and advising corporations, institutional investors and financial intermediaries on strategic, regulatory and policy matters.

Previously, Mr. Blahous was the deputy director of the National Economic Council of Washington, where he was closely involved with the Troubled Asset Relief Program, auto industry restructuring efforts and related economic stabilization and stimulus initiatives.

During his tenure on the council, he also handled pension reform, energy policy, housing sector issues, and tax, health care and environmental legislation.

Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. of Milwaukee has hired Paula Johnson, 47, as senior vice president.

The firm has also begun recruiting financial advisers for its first wealth management office in downtown San Francisco.

Ms. Johnson will be responsible for managing the new branch.

Previously, she was a vice president and branch manager in St. Louis-based Wachovia Securities LLC’s San Francisco office.

Barclays Wealth of London has hired Robert Lynch, 59, as a managing director and head of credit structuring for the Americas.

In the newly created role, he is responsible for developing a credit-structuring-and-lending platform to enhance the U.S. offering and provide Barclays Wealth clients in the Americas with a wide range of credit solutions and deposit products.

Previously, he served as Americas head of banking and lending at Citigroup Private Bank of New York, where his responsibilities included deposit product management, residential mortgages, margin lending, structured lending, professional-sports finance and middle-market lending.

FA Insight of Tacoma, Wash., was launched by Dan Inveen, 49, and Eliza De Pardo, 32.

The venture will provide consulting services and primary research for registered independent advisers, broker-dealers and their representatives, trade and professional associations, fund companies, custodians, banks and accounting firms.

Mr. Inveen is a principal and the director of research at FA Insight, and Ms. De Pardo is a principal and the director of consulting.

Previously, they worked at Seattle-based Moss Adams LLP’s financial services consulting practice.

Mr. Inveen was a senior research manager at Moss Adams, where he led a variety of high-profile research initiatives, including management of the group’s annual advisory firm benchmarking initiative.

Ms. De Pardo served as a senior consultant, where she used her international perspective to consult within the U.S. market.

Triad Advisors Inc. of Norcross, Ga., has named Glen Blackston, 48, as vice president of new-business development.

Previously, he served as an account sales executive at Shrewsbury, N.J.-based Discovery Database.
