Invescor Ltd. of Farmington Hills, Mich., has hired Camille Harrison, 52, as a compliance associate.

Previously, she was a registered principal for Ameriprise Financial Inc. of Minneapolis.

Invescor has also hired Benjamin Rosenzweig, 26, as a marketing specialist responsible for working with insurance and financial professionals in serving life settlement clients.

Previously, he was a financial planner at Detroit Financial Group LLC, where he specialized in developing financial planning strategies for entrepreneurs and business owners.

Russell Reynolds Associates Inc. of New York has hired Tom Long, 50, as a managing director in its Toronto office.

He will serve clients’ top talent needs across a range of sectors in Canada and internationally, with a particular emphasis on consumer-driven and natural-resources-based clients.

Previously, Mr. Long was a partner at Egon Zehnder International of New York, where he played a leading part in establishing that firm in the Canadian market.

In addition, the firm has hired Brad Belanger, 35, as an associate in the financial services sector.

He will assist in expanding the firm’s market presence in Canada. Mr. Belanger will concentrate his efforts on consumer financial services and insurance. He will also support the asset and wealth management team and the global banking and markets team. Previously, he was a principal at Chicago-based Heidrick & Struggles’ financial services practice.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has hired Barbara Lorenzen, 52, as an associate regional director for examinations in its Chicago office.

In her new position, she will oversee the SEC’s compliance examinations of registered broker-dealers and transfer agents located in the nine-state region covered by the Chicago office.

Ms. Lorenzen has extensive experience in auditing for regulatory compliance in the areas of customer protection and capital standards.

Previously, she worked for 28 years at the Chicago Board of Trade and held positions including vice president responsible for the financial surveillance and audits department.

Glenmede of Philadelphia has hired Frederick O. Young, 49, as a vice president and business development manager in its Princeton, N.J., office.

Previously, he was senior vice president and regional director of portfolio management/investment strategy at Wachovia Bank NA of Charlotte, N.C.

Shelterwood Financial Services LLC, a New York-based advisory firm, has hired Dimitri N. Balatsos, 66, as a senior adviser.

His primary focus will be to expand Shelterwood’s practice with ultrahigh-net-worth families in Europe and the United States.

Previously, Mr. Balatsos was president and chief investment officer of Tesseract Partners LLC of Falmouth, Md., a global investment management firm serving clients in the United States and abroad.

Thornburg Investment Management of Santa Fe, N.M., has promoted five employees to the position of managing director: Johnathan Burnham, 38, Bettie Kroutil, 51, Dean J. Mes-quite, 39, Christopher M. Ryon, 53, and Sloan Swanson, 38.

Mr. Burnham joined Thornburg in 2006 as director of research -communications. His responsibilities include communicating the processes and results of the firm’s products, coordinating placement of products and managing the team that produces investment-related marketing content as well as requests for proposals.

Ms. Kroutil joined Thorn-burg in 2003 as an associate and later became manager of daily operations in the institutional group. She is responsible for serving as the client point of contact, coordinating account openings, managing the daily/monthly reconciliations, overseeing the trade settlement area and coordinating all functions related to the private funds and collective in-vestment trust.

Mr. Mesquite joined Thornburg in 1998 as a customer service representative and was appointed a regional consultant in the Pacific Northwest in 2000.

Mr. Ryon joined Thornburg last year as an associate portfolio manager in the firm’s municipal-bond team.

Mr. Swanson joined Thornburg in 2001 as a sales coordinator and later moved to the institutional group, where he was involved with marketing and customer service for the firm’s institutional client base.

Most recently, he was director of business development, focusing on Thornburg’s institutional client base in the United States and abroad.
